Zimbabwe
This is a unique building style found in Zimbabwe. The tribes that occupied this region of Africa had an unusual architectural style developed hundreds of years ago when they traded with the Phoenicians, a highly advanced Mediterranean civilization.
Rhino
This female black rhino emerged from the brush when our guide uttered a male mating call. She was very disappointed when she discovered our vehicle.
Elephants
This bull elephant is busy here providing food for the herd. He is breaking down an acacia tree for the herd to eat. Elephants do not fully digest their food; once they defecate, the remnants of the tree will re-root and new acacia trees will grow from the excrement.
These photos were taken from a hidden observation booth at water level.
Feline
By our last day, we had seen all types of animals except for a leopard. The guide took us along the river, where we saw a spotted hyena waiting under a tree for scraps. The scraps, it turns out, were from a leopard in the tree with its kill.
